The Ohata lab—binds organic chemistry and us together
The Ohata group is an organic chemistry research laboratory examining chemical reactivities of peptides and proteins for therapeutic applications as well as for investigation of origin of biomolecules. Extending the idea of BINDRS (which was originally used for our nonaqueous bioconjugation campaign, Bioconjugations In Nonaqueous-Driven Reaction Solvents), our goal is not only to realize cutting-edge research but also effective education and mentorship, where the binding theme of the organic chemistry is the central core. We will strive to create inclusive environments with grace to enrich active learning by binding people and research where organic chemistry is a bridge, and the lab members and principal investigator are going to be sent as the ambassadors of organic chemistry called “BINDRS” to build the bridge.
